Cyber-Monday got it's start before most ppl had internet connections at home. Online retailers were surprised to find their biggest sales day was actually the Monday AFTER Black Friday. That's right, the day ppl returned to work and were able to use the company computer to check out any left-overs from the sales!

Origins of Black Friday

The Origins of Black Friday date back to the first Macy's Christmas parade in 1924. That's when the department store held a huge sale after the parade was over and it proved to be a success. Other stores began having big sales on the Friday after Thanksgiving and soon it became the traditional start of the holiday shopping season. The name Black Friday though didn't appear for another 40 years and was originally coined by police officers in Philadelphia to describe the crowds and chaos surrounding the shopping frenzy in that city.

Best Deals on Online Gift Purchases

Over the last couple of years I have noticed that for most of my gift purchases I at some point turn to the Internet if not to actually buy at least to do a comparison of features or find out what others are saying about my potential purchase.

At first like everyone else I was a bit reluctant to actually buy something online but over time I have grow really comfortable with transacting via the Internet and unless I'm pressed for time - like I forgot someones birthday and it's today - I find it convenient and safe, but most of all I enjoy the abundance of choices that the net offers me.

Therein though lies the problem. Kinda like having cable T.V. with a zillion channels, sometimes there's just too much of a good thing to make a decision. With that in mind I created this blog to research and review what I find to be the BEST deals on only quality items that I may find or have an interest in.

Most of the stuff I find will probably come from some of the major merchants already online but I will occasionally feature something from a not-so-well known retailer too.
